Gorilla in the room provide virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technology to the market research industry which includes, but is not limited to, products such as VR shelf tests, VR POS tests, AR product concepts and AR pack tests.
The Discover App uses the camera on your smartphone to show on-screen dynamic content on top of what you see in the real world (known as ‘augmented reality’) and uses features of your smartphone such as gyroscope and accelerometer to show 360-degree content of a virtual world (known as virtual reality).
We enable market research organisations to deliver augmented reality and virtual reality content to respondents via the Discover App, their own devices and/or web platforms as part of market research studies.
Gorilla in the room are working to build a service which is valuable for our users and in doing that we are absolutely committed to your privacy. The Discover App, Services, websites and related APIs and products covered by this policy are constantly evolving as we add new features to improve your experience, but our users’ privacy remains at the heart of what we do. As the Discover App changes, so might the information we use and how we use it. We encourage users to consult this policy whilst using Gorilla in the room services and we will notify you of any material changes to it through the Discover App.

How we use your information
Gorilla in the room Services or website data uses your personal information to provide services and operational support. We will occasionally use your information to contact you, for instance if you send us requests or ask us questions about Gorilla in the room or if there are technical or operational issues or updates which we think our customers need to know about.
We may also send you free newsletters and emails that directly promote the Gorilla in the room Service. When you receive such promotional communications from us, you will have the opportunity to “opt-out” by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in the email you receive.

Where we store your information
The information we collect in relation to you is stored on data centres operated by our third party providers. Our Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centres are currently based in Europe and the United States. By using Gorilla in the room service, you consent to the hosting of your personal information on these servers, which may involve the transfer of your personal data outside of the country it was collected. It is important to note that countries have different regulations in relation to personal information, including in relation to rights of access by law enforcement authorities.

You have the right to request details of the personal information Gorilla in the room holds about you and to have any inaccuracies corrected. In most cases, we will also be able to provide you with a copy of the personal information we hold. How old do I have to be to use Gorilla in the room?
Gorilla in the room’s services are intended for users who are at least 16 years old.
How long will Gorilla in the room keep my personal information?
We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary to provide access to our Services and websites and will not hold onto it once we have processed a request by you to delete your account.
By emailing delete@gorillaitr.com, you can have all account data deleted – if you do this a red flag goes on the database and, while Gorilla in the room cannot use the personal information, it stays on the system for a period for administration purposes before being deleted automatically.
If we are subject to a legally binding requirement to retain user information for a specific period, this may (subject to the law in question) override your ability to require deletion.

Gorilla in the room cookies and how to reject cookies
